Intelligent First Aid Kits
Intelligent first aid kits are developed in the United States by DLH, Inc. of Tinton, New Jersey, in conjunction with the National Safety Council. Intelligent first aid kits represent the latest advance in easy-to-use first aid. The kit combines first aid supplies with visual instruction cards and an audio chip that verbally guides users through first aid responses to common injuries.
Color coded packs
The kit is separated into color coded packs so that users can easily manage responses to particular injuries. Each pack is injury specific, including all first aid related to breathing, bleeding, shock, head and spine, bone, eye, burns, bites and stings and extras. Each pack comes with a 22 page guide book and all the supplies you need for the specific first aid emergency.
Audio instructions
With the press of a button on the color-coded visual instruction card, voiced instructions lead users step-by-step through proper application of first aid products and techniques. If the user wants, the instructions can be paused and repeated to ensure accuracy.
The intelligent first aid kit makes first aid administration easier and also more assuredly accurate and quicker. Of course, all of these can be very important aspects in first aid and emergency situations.
Kit sizes, prices and availability
There are various sizes of kits depending on your needs. An industrial version of the kit is available for police, fire departments and other EMS facilities, as well as factories and offices. The kit can be purchased in most of the major languages and is available from DLH, Inc. or any of its distributors, including Quake Kare, Inc. The kits retail for $31 to $100 (depending on the size and breadth of product). The company expects the intelligent first aid kit to be more broadly available in 2005.
